The 'Pastoral Impulses' diary has been taken from Paperblanks' Romantic Sensibility collection and successfully reflects the romantic preoccupations of tenderness and melancholy of the 18th and 19th century romantics.
It is the antique binding of the 1843 volume "The Poetical Remains of Henry Kirke White of Nottingham" which has inspired the cover of this modern-day diary, which would not be out of place in the writing desk of an 18th century English gentlewoman.
